Privacy Policy

In short

Scentra is designed to be privacy-first. We don't build advertising profiles, we don't share your data with marketers, and we don't require you to create an account. The information below explains exactly what happens with the data the App handles.

1. Who we are

"Scentra" refers to the team that operates the Scentra iOS app and the website at recentfollow.app/scentra. We act as the data controller for any personal data processed through the Service. Contact: larisa@iego.me.

2. What we store on your device

The following data is stored locally on your iPhone, in the App's sandbox, and is not sent to our servers:

• Your scent profile (families you like, budget, favorite perfume).
• Your collection (bottles you saved), wishlist, and wear notes.
• Your preferences (AI reply language, haptics, notifications toggle).

If you delete the App, this data is removed by iOS.

3. What we send to our servers

Scentra talks to our server at recentfollow.app/scentra only when you use a feature that needs it. The only identifier we store is a random device id, so we can apply the free daily scan limit. It is not your name, email, or Apple ID. We do not save your photos, advisor messages, or search history.

Dupes	The brand, name and notes of a bottle you already opened.	To suggest cheaper alternatives.

The photo, the chat, and the search are used only to answer that request. They are not stored as your photos, messages, or search history. Your collection and wishlist stay on the phone.

4. Third-party processors

To power the AI and the fragrance catalogue we use the following processors:

• Google Gemini, with OpenAI as a backup — they receive the chat text or bottle photo so the app can name a scent or answer a question. We send this through our server. The AI keys never sit inside the app.
• RapidAPI fragrance catalog — supplies perfume names, photos, notes and popularity. We query it from our server when you search, scan, or open Discover.
• Apple — if you buy Scentra Pro (weekly or yearly), Apple processes the payment. We do not see your card. The app only learns whether the purchase succeeded. A free trial appears only if Apple’s product includes one. You cancel in App Store settings.

Your requests are proxied through our servers so that our API keys are never embedded in the App. We do not keep your photos, advisor text, or searches.

5. What we don't collect

• We don't collect your name, email, or account information.
• We don't use any advertising SDKs.
• We don't include analytics trackers that identify individuals.
• We don't access your contacts, calendar, or location.

6. Permissions

• Camera — used only when you tap "Scan" or the camera button in the AI advisor.
• Photo Library — used only when you pick a photo to scan or to share with the AI.
• Notifications — only if you turn them on in Settings, or tap yes on the one card in Collection. They are scheduled on your phone. We do not run a remote push service.

7. Legal basis (EEA / UK users)

For users in the EEA or UK, we process your data under the following lawful bases of the GDPR: performance of the service you requested (Article 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in keeping the Service secure and reliable (Article 6(1)(f)).

8. Your rights

You can delete all App data at any time by uninstalling the App from your device. You also have the right to access, correct or erase any personal data we process, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights email larisa@iego.me.

9. Children

Scentra is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has used the App without parental consent, please contact us and we will act promptly.

10. Security

We use HTTPS for every request between the App and our servers. API keys used for third-party services never leave our backend. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. International transfers

Requests may be processed on servers located outside your country (for example, OpenAI's infrastructure). Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. We encourage you to review it from time to time.
