Privacy Policy

In short

Scentra is designed to be privacy-first. We don't build advertising profiles, we don't share your data with marketers, and we don't require you to create an account. The information below explains exactly what happens with the data the App handles.

1. Who we are

"Scentra" refers to the team that operates the Scentra iOS app and the website at iego.me/scentra. We act as the data controller for any personal data processed through the Service. Contact: larisa@iego.me.

2. What we store on your device

The following data is stored locally on your iPhone, in the App's sandbox, and is not sent to our servers:

• Your scent profile (moods, olfactory families, seasons, budget, etc.).
• Your wishlist, owned / tested tags, and saved recommendations.
• Your preferences (AI language, haptics, notifications toggle).

If you delete the App, this data is removed by iOS.

3. What we send to our servers

Scentra communicates with our backend at iego.me/scentra for three purposes:

/chat	The text of your message + short conversation history + a generated "scent profile" summary (moods, families, seasons, budget). No device identifiers.	To generate AI fragrance advice.
/scan	A compressed JPEG of the photo you choose to scan.	To identify the perfume bottle in the image.
/search	Your search query or filters (e.g. "rose jasmine").	To return matching perfumes from the fragrance database.

4. Third-party processors

To power the AI and the fragrance catalogue we use the following processors:

• OpenAI — receives your chat messages and scanned images on our behalf to generate responses. OpenAI does not use API data to train its models. See OpenAI's API data policy.
• Fragplace / RapidAPI — provides the fragrance catalogue used by the discover and scanner features.

Your requests are proxied through our servers so that our API keys are never embedded in the App. We do not retain the content of your requests or responses beyond short-lived request logs needed for abuse prevention (kept for a maximum of 14 days).

5. What we don't collect

• We don't collect your name, email, or account information.
• We don't use any advertising SDKs.
• We don't include analytics trackers that identify individuals.
• We don't access your contacts, calendar, or location.

6. Permissions

• Camera — used only when you tap "Scan" or the camera button in the AI advisor.
• Photo Library — used only when you pick a photo to scan or to share with the AI.
• Notifications — used to send helpful re-engagement reminders you can disable at any time in Settings.

7. Legal basis (EEA / UK users)

For users in the EEA or UK, we process your data under the following lawful bases of the GDPR: performance of the service you requested (Article 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in keeping the Service secure and reliable (Article 6(1)(f)).

8. Your rights

You can delete all App data at any time by uninstalling the App from your device. You also have the right to access, correct or erase any personal data we process, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights email larisa@iego.me.

9. Children

Scentra is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has used the App without parental consent, please contact us and we will act promptly.

10. Security

We use HTTPS for every request between the App and our servers. API keys used for third-party services never leave our backend. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. International transfers

Requests may be processed on servers located outside your country (for example, OpenAI's infrastructure). Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. We encourage you to review it from time to time.
