NicLess Privacy Policy

NicLess is a quit-nicotine iPhone app (bundle ID com.smokly). This policy describes what the app actually stores and who can see it. NicLess is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice.

Who we are

The developer of NicLess operates this app and this page. We do not ask you to create an account and we do not run a user database of your quit history.

What the app stores on your iPhone

Almost all of your journey stays on the device, using Apple’s local storage (UserDefaults). That can include:

• Your habit type (cigarettes, vape, or pouches), quit date and time, daily amount, cost per unit, and currency
• Why you quit (the reasons you tap in onboarding)
• Your live streak, money saved, and units avoided — calculated on the device from the numbers above
• Mood check-ins
• Relapse / slip logs (when you choose to log one)
• Goals you create and whether you hit them
• Craving journal entries created when you use SOS (intensity, trigger, whether you rode it out)
• Completed daily missions and the year-quest / Ember’s Crown flag if you reach day 365
• Notification time and whether you allowed alerts
• Whether you already saw Ember’s welcome letter and streak intro
• A launch count used only to decide when to ask Apple’s in-app review prompt (first and second open of the main app)

If you use Start over in Profile, this local data is erased on that iPhone. It cannot be recovered.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, NicLess schedules local reminders on your device (short streak pings, tapered after the first days, skipped if you already opened the app that day). The notification text is generated on the device. We do not send you push messages from our own servers.

Purchases

Premium is an auto-renewing Apple subscription (weekly and yearly product IDs Smokly.Weekly and Smokly.Yearly). Payment is processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat only to check whether your Apple subscription is active and to show the correct price and any Apple introductory offer (including a free trial if Apple says you are eligible). RevenueCat receives the anonymous App User ID and purchase status needed to unlock Premium. It does not receive your journal, quit date, or health notes.

You can restore purchases on any iPhone signed into the same Apple ID. Manage or cancel in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

Reviews

The in-app “Rate us” button opens Apple’s write-review page for NicLess (Apple ID 6805944714). Apple may also show its standard review dialog (limited by Apple to a few times per year). We do not read your review text.

What we do not collect

• No email, name, or login
• No location tracking for advertising
• No third-party ads or ad SDKs in the app
• No sale of your quit data

Children

NicLess is meant for people who use nicotine. It is not directed at children under 13. Do not use it to collect a child’s data.

Your choices

• Refuse notifications in iOS Settings
• Skip Premium and keep the free streak and money-saved counters
• Erase local data with Start over
• Delete the app, which removes on-device data

Changes

If this policy changes in a material way, we will update the date on this page.
